Welcome to my website

I offer individual and family therapy, marital help, and parental support using Bowen Family Systems Theory online and at The Bowen Center Georgetown Family Clinic. I serve individuals, couples, parents, and families from all walks of life with a wide array of family and marital challenges, emotional and relationship concerns.

I have worked with individuals with a variety of problems and with varying degrees of severity. Relationship conflicts, marital distress, conflict, and distance, parental dilemmas, marital tensions, anxiety, depression, physical illness, losses, parenting anxiety, childhood and adolescent problems, concerns about aging, workplace stress, and grief and trauma are some of the concerns people bring.

I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2001. My work in counseling began in the mental health field with children and adults with severe mental illness. I later earned my PhD from George Washington University where I interned and began my studies in Bowen Family Systems Theory. I have taught as adjunct faculty in counseling at The George Washington University. I have conducted research on successful aging that is grounded in Erikson’s developmental theory and continue my research in testing the constructs in parent-child relationships and marital relationships grounded in Bowen Family Systems Theory. I have developed a measure to better understand family unit functioning.
